Practical Classics Restoration Show 12-13 April 2014
I had a good day at the PC Restoration Show yesterday. It was very good for anyone interested in getting into classic cars for the first time with interesting talks by Quentin Wilson, Edd China, Mike Brewer and Fuzz Townshend as well as the PC team. They all stated the importance of belonging to the relevant classic cars club and Mike Brewer suggested that club newsletters and websites were the best places to find cars. There was enough space to walk around in comfort even with the large crowds in attendance. The autojumble was good by today’s standards with only two stalls selling non automotive bits. The club
technical challenge which saw clubs racing to change cylinder head valves on an A Series head was very good. There were three live stages where some of the stall holders were passing on their expertise on such things as leather renovation, how to revive your paintwork and preparing your car for an MOT as well as the Leeds City College bringigng the workshop to life with a series of live demonstrations. An excellant show which is well worth a visit next year.
